Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) provides pro bono legal service to artists and arts organizations, including visual, performing and literary arts. Services include the full array of legal concerns of artists, from incorporation and tax exemption, contracts to protection of intellectual property. Financial eligibility depends upon an individual’s household income or an organization’s budget. There is a sliding scale of reduced fees for those who do not qualify for free services.
In addition to direct legal services, LCA also offers workshops, speakers, publications and an Arts Mediation Service, whereby disputes within the arts community can be resolved inexpensively, quickly and privately.
